Production scheduling is the core challenge managing every SMB manufacturer. However, it is also a tricky topic. We are passionate about it, and decided to share all our experiences.
One of our first touch points with manufacturing was to read the book “The Goal” by Eliyahu Goldratt when we were university students. It inspired us massively, and we particularly liked its infotainment style.
While the principles described in “The Goal” are still valid today, we’ve learned that things need to be viewed more differently for smaller manufacturers, especially when MTO is part of the program. Furthermore, we sensed that production scheduling never should be looked at in an isolated way. Instead, it always also has a large element of how it integrates with an ERP system.
Hence, we decided to share all our SMB production scheduling experiences by writing a business novel. As we do not regard this book as an income source, we also decided to publish it for free. On this website.
Although we are brothers, we are different. We are different to the extent that we are complementary. As such, we kiddingly tend to say we combine wisdom with curiosity, number-crunching with creativity, and structure with vision.
We have the curiosity to explore what’s possible, and the wisdom to decide what truly matters. One of us constantly pushes into new ideas, the other ensures we turn them into meaningful action.
